EVENT MANAGER

We are looking for two individuals to assist with the delivery of this year’s QSA final in Manchester on Tuesday 30 June. Prior experience is not essential, but someone with events experience would be helpful.
You will be responsible for:
Working with the venue manager to ensure that the event runs smoothly and keeps to schedule
Dealing with all initial questions and/or queries raised by guests and performers and where needed bringing these to the attention of the event director
Checking-in guests using our event app
Supporting the venue staff with serving pre-purchased welcome drinks to guests
Ushering guests between the networking reception (ground floor) to the event space (basement)
Overall management of the pink carpet to ensure that recording of interviews stays on schedule
Moving event banners and signage between hired spaces during the dinner service (as requested)
Encouraging guests to engage in activities including signing our guest book, taking polaroid photos and utilising the photo pink carpet
Managing event audio and visual (via smart devices) alongside the venue manager
Assisting the awards host with the awards presentations on stage (TBC)
Working with the pink carpet host during the awards presentation to post photos/videos of our winners to social media (TBC)
Helping with event breakdown and venue space clearance at the end of the evening
Ad hoc tasks assigned by the event director on the evening itself
You will need to:
Be 18 years or older
Attend a briefing call (up to 30 minutes) prior to the event
Be available to work between 4.30pm and 12.30am on the evening of the event Tuesday 30th June (the end time may be earlier once the venue confirms whether we need to clear the space on the evening of the event)
Attend a short video call interview prior to being hired for the role*
We will:
Provide you with a two-course hot/cold buffet meal and refreshments throughout the evening
Payment for your time at an hourly rate of £12 (for 18-20 year olds) and £14 (for 21 years and above) via invoice to be shared with us post-event (invoices are paid within 5 days of receipt)
A reference for you to use to secure further casual work in the future
An uninterrupted 20-minute break if you are needed beyond 10.30pm on the evening (this will be confirmed prior to the event)
