Terms & Conditions
By submitting one or more nominations and/or attending The 2026 Queer Student Awards you are agreeing to the terms and conditions listed below.
ELIGIBILITY
Nomination entries for The Queer Student Awards are open to individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+ community, individuals/organisations with a personal and/or professional connection to the person being nominated and organisations or institutions who have made contributions to the improvement of LGBTQ+ lives, work with the LGBTQ+ community or support LGBTQ+ causes.
KEY DATES
Nominations for QSA2026 open at 1200 on Wednesday 5th November 2025 and close at 2000 on Wednesday 25th March 2026. The QSAs reserve the right to extend the deadline for receiving entries for any/all categories and will provide at least 7 days of notice of this extension.
Steve Keith Curious Consulting UK Limited reserves the right to extend the nomination period in the event that the entries received are of insufficient quality or quantity and/or the right to cancel relevant categories affected by this, prior to the shortlist announcement.
There will be an additional deadline for individuals long listed. More information to be provided privately once entries for the relevant categories close. The person submitting the nomination will also be sent this information and accepts responsibility for passing this information to anyone that they nominate.
ENTRY ELIGIBILITY
The work recognised within nominations must have taken place between Tuesday 25th March 2025 and Wednesday 25th March 2026.
Students nominated must have been enrolled at a UK secondary school, sixth form, further education college or university during this time period.
We reserve the right to ask for verification with regards to the enrolment status of students nominated.
SUBMITTING NOMINATIONS
Only nominations that are received using the entry form(s) on this website will be considered by the judging panel.
Please submit only one entry per form.
We ask that people do not submit nominations on someone else’s behalf. By this we mean that the person who wrote the nomination should be the person who submits it. We ask for the contact details of each person nominating in case we need to contact them during the judging process for clarification on the contents of their nomination.
Those nominating somebody else must provide the name and email address of the person they are nominating at the point of submission. It is the responsibility of everyone entering to make those who are being nominated aware of this prior to submission.
Duplicate entries which have been copied and pasted across multiple categories will not be passed to the judges. The same applies to entries where words have been plagiarised from other websites.
A maximum of 5 pieces of supporting evidence can be submitted with each entry. This could include:
Hyperlinks to publicly accessible websites, social media channels or cloud storage AND/OR
Documents/files such as .pdf .doc .ppt.
Photos/graphics
ALL supporting documents/files should be labelled with the name of the category and person/organisation being nominated.
By submitting a nomination(s) to The Queer Student Awards you give:
Permission for duplications of your nomination(s) to be made, and shared with members of the judging panel
Permission for summaries of the words submitted in your nomination(s) and/or direct quotes to be published on thequeerstudentawards.co.uk, the QSA social media channels and in relevant press releases;
VIDEO NOMINATIONS
All video submissions must be submitted via the entry form(s) on this website. If you are experiencing issues uploading your video then please contact us at hello@thequeerstudentawards.co.uk.
The person who is making the nomination must be the main person speaking in the video.
Video nominations should be between 2 minutes and 7 minutes long.
JUDGING
The judging panel will review all entries after the final closing date and the shortlist for each category is scheduled to be announced will be announced in April 2026. The decisions made by the judging panel are final.
All of the judges supporting The Queer Student Awards agree to keep the judging process and its outcomes confidential. Any attempts to contact the judges with the intention of interfering with the judging process and/or to influence its outcome(s) will result in the relevant nominations being disqualified.
SHORTLIST ANNOUNCEMENT
Everyone shortlisted as a finalist will always be contacted via the email address hello@thequeerstudentawards.co.uk. We advise that you check junk and/or set filters/rules to ensure our emails are received and responded to within the timeframe(s) given.
The event operator (Steve Keith Curious Consulting UK Limited) reserves the right to withdraw a nomination from the shortlist if no response is received within 10 working days of any requests made of finalists.
THE QSA2026 FINAL
Subject to venue availability, the final of the 2026 Queer Student Awards is currently scheduled to take place in either the week commencing 22nd June 2025 or 29th June 2025.
All winners of all categories will be announced at the live event itself.
Students - currently in enrolled at a UK secondary school, sixth form college, further education college or university - will be gifted free tickets to attend the event. A valid NUS extra card/TOTUM card will need to be shown when checking-in at the venue. We will also accept UNIDAYs, StudentBeans or a valid student ID.
Free tickets gifted to students will be charged for in the event of non-attendance.
Everybody else attending will need to purchase a ticket prior to the event to attend.
All ticket sales are final. Tickets can be transferred to another person but this must be done no later than 24 hours before the event.
SAFEGUARDING
The Queer Student Awards has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards homophobic, biphobic and transphobic hate speech and all other forms of discrimination. Any entries submitted which contain these will be responded to directly, and if deemed necessary reported to the police.
It is the responsibility of the nominator to ensure that any individuals nominated already openly share their sexuality and/or gender identity.
Steve Keith Curious Consulting UK Limited accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by those nominating and/or shortlisted/the winners, as a result of entering The Queer Student Awards. Steve Keith Curious Consulting UK Limited further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to those nominating and/or shortlisted/the category winners’ or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with The Queer Student Awards.

Any complaints regarding The Queer Student Awards should be addressed directly to Steve Keith (Founder and Event Director) via email at steve@thequeerstudentawards.co.uk.
It is assumed by the promoter that all individuals, organisations and institutions nominating have reviewed our privacy policy prior to submission. Submission confirms this.
REGARDING EVENT PARTNERSHIPS
Steve Keith Curious Consulting UK Limited reserves the right to remove individual entries from consideration if associated entry or partnership fees have not been paid in full before the shortlist announcement.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The decisions of Steve Keith Curious Consulting UK Limited in all matters under its control is final and binding.
